Hi, I'm Amy. I am a board Certified Nutrition Specialist® and a Licensed Dietician-Nutritionist, with a small private practice in the DC metro area. From February 2020, I will also be seeing clients at a new health and wellness space in downtown Silver Spring. As well as seeing private clients I teach at Maryland University for Integrative Health, where I am a lead instructor in the Nutrition Masters program (teaching Life Cycle Nutrition) , and I offer classes in foundational nutrition at the National Institutes of Health (FAES at NIH).
I am often asked what my 'food philosophy' is. I am generally agnostic: I don't push veganism, keto diets or a paleo lifestyle, but prefer an individualized, intuitive approach to eating. We are all biochemically unique, thus each of us will have different dietary needs, and these will differ across the changing phases of our lives. I have a background in research , which drives me to follow evidenced-based nutrition practice, rather than promoting food fads or the latest trend in supplements. I believe that good nutrition centers on fresh food, first and foremost, with occasional use of targeted supplementary nutrients when needed.
I work with clients of all ages, via web conference, calls, and at the clinic in Silver Spring. If you are interested in finding out how I could help you or your family, please reach out for a free meet and greet! I look forward to getting to know you and helping you achieve your goals.
