Hi, I'm Amy!
I am a board Certified Nutrition Specialist®, and a Licensed Dietician-Nutritionist. I operate a small private nutrition practice in the DC metro area, and I teach graduate level classes on Life Cycle Nutrition (from preconception through to geriatrics) at Maryland University for Integrative Health. I will also be teaching an introductory nutrition course at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from fall of 2019.
I am often asked what my 'food philosophy' is. I am generally agnostic: I don't push veganism, keto diets or a paleo lifestyle, but prefer an individualized, intuitive approach to eating. We are all biochemically unique, thus each of us will have different dietary needs, and these will differ across the changing phases of our lives. I have a background in research , which drives me to follow evidenced-based nutrition practice, rather than promoting food fads or the latest supplements. I believe that good nutrition centers on fresh food, first and foremost, with occasional use of supplements when needed.
I work with clients of all ages, in person at my office in Bethesda MD, and remotely via phone or video chat. If you are interested in finding out how I could help you or your family, please reach out! I look forward to getting to know you.
